MillerHead2Josh Miller was first elected as State Senator representing District 28 in Cranston and Warwick in 2006. Within a short time, he earned a reputation as a leader on environmental and small business issues and as an advocate for less fortunate Rhode Islanders. Josh has since lead efforts to create jobs, protect the health of our community and its environment and ensure the concerns of his district are voiced loud and clear at the State House. As a member of the Senate leadership and previous chairman of the Senate Committee on Corporations, Josh was credited with turning the focus of the committee to protect consumers' rights and facilitate job growth among small businesses. Senator Miller is proud to announce that he is the new chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services.

You can often find Josh riding around on his scooter, visiting local businesses, or working at one of his restaurants. A lifelong Rhode Islander, Josh is a hard working small businessman who has established a number of successful restaurants in the Providence area. Josh is also an active member of his community, serving on a number of nonprofit boards and in local community organizations. An alumni of Hope High School and the University of Rhode Island, Josh and his wife Nancy reside in the Edgewood section of Cranston. Their son, Nicholas, attends college in New York City.
